Golden Valley Health Center Senior Health & Wellness Center is a new OSHPD 3 licensed clinic located in Merced, CA. This new project development had a building footprint of 18,011 square feet, consisting of (2) two stories, with an overall project development size of approximately 28,100 square feet. The first floor consisted of a Senior Clinic, Laboratory, Eye Clinic, and a Specialty Clinic. The second floor consisted of office space, staff training room, meeting rooms, kitchen, and staff lounge. The project’s overall cost was $10,000,000.

MK2 Engineers’ scope of work for this project included the design and construction support of the mechanical, plumbing, fire protection sprinkler head layout, electrical and fire alarm systems. MK2 also designed the gas and electric joint trench site utility systems. 

Several sustainable technologies were incorporated into the design for the achievement of over 30% energy savings above 2007 Title-24 Energy Efficiency Standards. MK2 Engineers’ proposed energy savings were confirmed by PG&E through the savings by design program which gave the owner a rebate for investing in energy efficiency.

The joint trench gas and electric designs were completed by MK2 and approved by PG&E. The design included site gas distribution, site electrical distribution, and the design of a new PG&E Power Pole.
